Automated Systems

I have been a technical trader for several years, and while moderately successful, it has always been extremely stressful and time consuming. My approach was to keep things simple, exercise discipline and practice good money management techniques. The problem is the market is a turbulent and chaotic place, always pushing the bounds of entropy. Along with this uncertainty, the time commitment was enormous, and keeping emotions in check was at times an exercise in futility. I needed a better way.

So I decided to explore systems trading. It offered two important characteristics; 1) it took the emotion out of the equation, the machine trades for you, and 2) subjectivity is completely removed, allowing me to measure results based on objective data. Now I can track, analyze and optimize my trade performance with a degree of certainty that I never experienced before. I had considered programming my own strategies, especially with my technical background, but realized the effort required for development and testing was far more than I was willing or capable of taking on.

So, I turned to the Internet to find existing systems to use. After much research I discovered a person who has been developing automated systems for many years and was also willing to mentor me about the efficacy of automated algorithmic systems programming. In a very short amount of time I absorbed years of knowledge concerning programmatic trading systems.

Although I have the background in finance and software development, I chose to go the route of ready built systems in order to save me huge amounts of time and expense associated with development, test and maintenance. I decided to lease the systems you see here on this page and throughout the TradeSavant website.
